June 14:Read a book set in a fictional world. Your secret code will be the number of pages in the book that you read. Some examples of books that would fit this challenge: The Lord of the Rings, The Hunger Games, Chronicles of Narnia, Golden Compass, The Cruel Prince. If you need a book, you can download one through Overdrive or Hoopla. The library will also be starting Curbside Pickup on Monday, June 15 and you can put in a request for a book right now.
June 21: Read a biography this week. Your secret code is the birth date of the subject of the biography.
June 28: Read a book written in verse this week. The secret code is to write the last word of the book you've selected. If you need ideas...Kwame Alexander has several books in verse. You could also read The Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds, The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo or Ordinary Hazards by Nikki Grimes.
July 5: Hello Readers! I'm posting this week's challenge a little early since this is a holiday weekend. Your challenge for this week is to read an audio book. The secret code is the running time in minutes of your chosen book. If you are looking for suggestions, the Teen Zone has several great Playaway books that you could request and get through Curbside Pickup.
