March Fictional Character Madness....starts today!!

The Teen Zone has a created a fun way to take part in March Madness....The Favorite Fictional Character Competition. We want to know who you think is the best fictional character of all time. The survey ranks characters from literature, tv, and movies in  head-to-head battles. Round one will consist of 32 match ups and will continue for several rounds until we determine a Champion Fictional Character. You can print out a bracket and try to predict the winner. For every match up that you guess correctly, you will earn points. The contestant with the most points at the end of the tournament will win a Dairy Queen gift card...and lots of bragging rights. This contest is open to ALL ages. You must get your completed brackets to me (via email) before we post the winners of Round 1 on Thursday.

We're Here For You: Special Teen Zone Virtual Programming

These are very strange days but the Teen Zone is here for you!! Starting tomorrow the Teen Zone will be offering some brand new, VIRTUAL programs for teens in grades 6 through 12. This will be a great way to have some fun, win some great prizes, and most importantly...STAY SAFE! I will be putting more information about all programs and activities on the library website under Teen Services. I will also be using social media to update. While the library is closed to the public, I am working and available to answer your questions. The best way to reach me is via email: WPLyoungadults@gmail.com

Super Scavaganza: Stuck at Home Edition
Part Scavenger Hunt, Part Amazing Race, 100% Fun
This competition will be comprised of over 50 challenges. Teens can complete as many challenges as they like for points. The teen that has earned the most points when the contest ends will win a really great prize. The event starts tomorrow and will end when schools reopen. You must
register to take part in this challenge but you can register at any point during the competition.

Spring Reading Program
Who says you need summer to have a reading program? The Teen Zone is hosting a spring reading program for teens in grades 6 through 12. Register and then keep track of the amount of time spent reading (for fun and enjoyment...not required school reading) and the titles of the books you have read.  There will be a prize for the teen who logs the most reading hours and an invitation to a pizza/ice cream party to anyone who completes a minimum of 4 hours each week that the school is closed. This program will start immediately.

Write a Book Review
Love to read YA? Why not share that love with others by writing book reviews of Young Adult books. Email your reviews to WPLyoungadults@gmail.com and I will share them on our website and social media. As a bonus, any teen that submits a review will earn an hour of volunteer service.

Surprises: Stay Tuned
In addition, we will be adding surprise events and challenges throughout the upcoming weeks so be sure to check our website and social media sites often.
