Keep Your Ears Open for WPL's Pecha Kucha!

Pecha Kucha will be coming to Westborough!

Pecha-what?

Pecha Kucha is Japanese for “chatter.”  Beginning in Tokyo, back in 2003 by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham, Pecha Kucha's original goal was to create an area where designers could express their ideas and passions with one another.

But...giving a designer a microphone?  Dangerous!  Do you even know how long they'll speak?  To prevent speakers from droning on and on and on, Pecha Kucha applies a simple set of rules to each presentation: exactly 20 slides are displayed for 20 seconds each, no matter what the topic or who the speaker is.  This results in a length of 6 minutes and 40 seconds per speaker/presentation.

During the day on Saturday, May 13th or at night on Thursday, May 18th, the Westborough Public Library, for roughly two hours, will be hosting it's own Pecha Kucha!  Who are the speakers?  10 local teens who will express their interests in a variety of topics.  Keep your ears open for more news!
