Bookface Contest

New Year...New You Bookface Contest. For the New Year, create a New You! The Westborough Public Library is sponsoring a Bookface Photo Contest during the month of January. Photo entries may be submitted from January 1-23 and will be displayed in the library and on the library Facebook page. Voting will take place January 24-29 and the winner will be announced on January 30. The contest is open to all patrons but....I know that the teens will be a dominate force to be reckoned with!!! The creator of the winning photograph will win a gift certificate. (Sure to be somewhere that you'll enjoy!!!) For those of you who may not know, a bookface can be created by finding a book with a face, part of a face, or another body part on the cover of the book. You then strategically line up your face or body part alongside the book cover that features a matching body part so that it looks like you are part of the book cover. The best way to learn about bookfacing is to Google it and look at the many examples available on the Internet.
To enter the contest, email your bookface photos to WPLyoungadults@gmail.com and make sure to include your name and telephone number. Each person may submit two photos. So what are you waiting for??? Put on your creative hat and start planning out your bookface photo today!!

Drop In for Snacks and Snow Activities

Unfortunately, I have decided to cancel the So Much Snow program scheduled for Thursday, December 10 at 12. However, there are still plenty of reasons to drop into the library after school. There will be snacks and snow activities available in the Teen Zone all afternoon- at least until they run out.
There is still plenty of time to register for the Great Cookie Challenge on Saturday, December 12. Just bake your favorite cookie, bring the recipe and a few dozen to be sampled and you may win a Yummy treat! Sign up today.

Service Hours Available!!!

The Teen Zone is hosting a Gingerbread Crafting for kids in K-3 on December 12. I could really use some teen help assembling the gingerbread houses and cinnamon ornaments. Next Wednesday December 9, I will provide the supplies and snacks and I'm hoping you will provide the time to help make the houses that we need. Don't worry- it's not that difficult. I plan on cheating with graham crackers and a hot glue gun. Stop by anytime Wednesday afternoon or evening.
